Iceland is a member state of numerous and extensive treaties that cover, among other things, trade and commerce, the mobility of persons and the transport of goods between boarders. The Directorate of Customs has the responsibility of enforcing these treaties. The Directorate also collaborates with various Icelandic bodies and institutions.
