A unit is:
- Each 0.25 litres of strong alcohol, i.e. alcohol content more than 21% by volume.
- Each 0.75litres of vine, i.e. alcoholic drinks other than beer containing 21% or less alcohol by volume.
- Each 3 litres of beer.
- Each 3 litres of sparkling vine, fermented drinks or mixture of fermented drinks and non alcoholic drinks classified under headings 2208 and 2206 containing maximum 6% alcohol by volume.
